Birthday girl

Betty Boop first appeared in 1930 in a cartoon Dizzy Dishes. She was created by Max Fleischer, a pioneer of animated cartoons, and was based on singer Helen Kane. She is most famous as the first risque character on the animated screen and as a symbol of the Jazz Age flappers. Today her appeal encompasses all audiences.
